2026 Schedule of Demos & Activities

Special live demonstrations and fun hands-on activities at multiple locations throughout the weekend. Painting demos, block carving demos, pottery demos, weaving and more! Hands on activities where you make and then take home with you. Many of these activities occur several times during the day. Click on the artist's name to view his/her listing. See the Map page for locations.

Location 2 — 28 Maple St

Naomi Wilsey will be demonstrating Japanese Sumi-e brush painting. PLUS — Hands-on art project for all ages including children accompanied by adults: Japanese brush painting using traditional materials.

Location 3 — The Glass Bar — 60 Dedham Ave

The Glass Bar will have glass cutting demonstrations and hands-on experiences (people will be allowed to learn.) This activity is designed for ages 10+.

Location 7 — 32 Mellen St

Ariel Shoemaker will lead Mini MetaPainting Experiences — a guided, hands-on introduction to painting hand-cast ceramic mosaic tiles. Visitors are invited to slow down, pick up a brush, and experience the calm that comes from making something beautiful. This is a demo/community experience. (But if you’d like to take the experience home, MetaPainting Kits will be available to purchase.) All ages welcome! No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to make something. (Starts every hour on the hour.)

Studio #L101 — The Potters Shop and School will be demonstrating wheel throwing and hand building pottery.

Studio #L108 — Michael Bogdanow will be working on his newest sculpture, "Repairing the World", made from clay, painted cardboard, and wood.

Studio #111 — John Lechner will be demonstrating drawing and watercolor painting.

Studio #204 — Adina Troen-Krasnow will be demonstrating mosaic work.

Studio #210 — Jennifer Yogel of Local Color Jewelry will be demonstrating the Art of Viking Knitting hand weaving in fine metals.

Location 9 — Sunita L. Williams Elementary School — 585 Central Ave

Anne Nydam will be demonstrating how she carves a rubber block for relief printing.

Derrick Maurice Sanderson will be demonstrating his techniques and materials for watercolor brush-tip pens, pointillism, colored pencils, and more. PLUS — Art enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to try out the watercolor brush-tip pens. (1pm)

Location 10 — North Hill — 865 Central Ave

At Wellspring Gallery, visitors can participate in North Hill’s Empty Bowls project. Get hands-on with clay and create a pinch pot. These handmade pieces will be donated to the North Hills Empty Bowls event, helping to raise funds and increase awareness of hunger in our local community. (11am-12:30pm and 1pm-3pm)
